Dear Angel Investors, Startup Founders and Operators

The future of the UK startup ecosystem is at a critical crossroads. An Open Letter has been written by the Startup Coalition urgently imploring the Chancellor to reconsider impending changes to the definition of High Net Worth Individual Investor.

The proposed changes will alinenate a lot of potential Angel investors that can genuinely add value to startups through their years of experience just because they don’t earn above £170K.

🚨 Earnings does not not alway equate to experience nor does it equal to value added.

These changes could drastically reduce the amount of capital available to founders, potentially killing off the next generation of scaleups and worst of all female and underrepresented founders will be hit the hardest.

Not only will it make angel investing an elite-only activity but will also be undoing huge amounts of good work done by so many angel investors in the ecosystem.
